GM Europe Production Car/LCV By Plant : 2014

GM Europe Production Car/LCV By Plant : 2014

The Opel/Vauxhall Mokka is proving popular

GM Europe made just under 1,000,000 cars and light commercial vehicles in 2014. It also sourced nearly 150,000 from elsewhere, basically Korea. For that amount of vehicles, that is too many plants but rationalising takes time. There is also an improvement in sales for 2015 so better utilisation of capacity will be achieved that way at least.

The biggest plant for GM Europe is Zaragoza in Spain. It makes the Corsa (237,000), Meriva (61,600) and new for 2014 the Mokka (21,000). Rüsselsheim in Germany comes next which makes the Insignia (99,500) and Astra (52,900). The Bupyeong plant in Korea was third largest supplier mainly with the Mokka (136,000) and Antara (11,900). The production in Hungary is made by Suzuki, that being the Agila.
